No pyjama game for youths
Friday, 4th Apr 2014"It is great for our youth players and parents to see that the pathway to our first team is continuing
Dunfermline Athletic Head of Youth, Stephen Wright was delighted to see young Paul Joseph Crossan perform very well and score on his first start for Dunfermline Athletic's U20. The match against Hamilton on Tuesday night at East End Park could barely have started better. Stephen said:-
"It was great to see Paul Joseph doing very well with our U20's against Hamilton considering he is still only 15 years old and has another year at U17's next season. Last week he joked to me that in his previous substitute appearances for the U20's he has hit the post and the bar, and wondered when he was going to score.
"Not only did he score after 20 seconds on Tuesday but he has made a very good impression on the manager and Neil McCann up in the stands and of course Alex Neil, the Hamilton player/manager who he out ran for his goal".
Paul Joseph follows on the back of many of Dunfermline Athletic's youth players to feature recently with John Potter's U20 squad, including James Thomas, Cameron McClair, Adam Forrest, Scott Russell, Cameron Gill and Jordan Orru. Stephen said:-
"It is great for our youth players and parents to see that the pathway to our first team is continuing and hopefully we will see more of our boys progressing further over the next few seasons following in the footsteps of Lewis Martin, Ryan Williamson, Lewis Spence and Finn Graham".
