Three Bells hit the jackpot v Morton
Steven Bell's hat-trick against Morton on 24th April was the ninth hat trick by a Pars player in the First Division, the 132nd hat trick in a Scottish League match, and the 153rd in all official Pars games.
It was only the second Pars hat trick against Morton and the first since Bert Paton scored three against them on 23rd March 1968 in a 4-0 Pars home win.
It is the first time since season 1993/94 that two different players have scored a hat trick for the Pars. In that season Hamish French scored two hat tricks while George O'Boyle got one in the final game of the season.
With Joe Cardle's earlier hat-trick against Partick Thistle, it is almost certainly the first season ever that two Dunfermline players not playing in striker's role have scored a hat-trick. The last time a Pars player in a midfield role scored a hat trick was Istvan Kozma in 1989 and prior to that Jackie Sinclair in 1974, so they are rare!
