Programme of the Year
Thursday, 20th May 2010The Pars award winning season, congratulations to Editor Duncan Simpson and his team
Now that the season 2009/10 has ended, we are pleased to let fans know that the Pars have won at least one award this season. The annual Programme of the Year Awards are organised in both England and Scotland by Programme Monthly and are judged by programme editors, contributors, collectors and fans, and have been running since season 1973/74.
The Pars matchday programme has won the award a number of times in the past and has also come very close on a number of other occasions. Last year The Game came second to the excellent Clyde programme, but this year we've gone one better and won the title of First Division Programme of the Year for 2009-2010.

As anyone who has been involved in the production of something like a football programme will know, the task of producing something that is accurate, topical and interesting is quite a task - especially when you don't have teams of full-time staff spending their week doing it! We'd like to thank our hard-working team of volunteers who burn the midnight oil in their own time to produce a matchday programme that we are proud of.
The Board at East End Park has always supported the publication of a quality football programme at Dunfermline Athletic as one important way of keeping in touch with fans, and helping them to understand what the manager and players think. It has also always been a way of ensuring that fans are educated in the club's history, and for the many children and adults who collect them, a great way of keeping their own personal history of their involvement with the club.
None of this would be possible without the tremendous support of our local business community whose advertising sponsors the matchday programme. It also wouldn't be possible without the professional design and print services of our matchday programme printers, Garthland Print. Garthland have been associated with Dunfermline Athletic for many years and our thanks go to their staff for their great support.
