Managers Post Raith
Saturday, 20th Mar 201020/03/10:- JM "We are playing catch up so we just have to take care of ourselves and see where that takes us. I am not really interested in anyone else."
Jim McIntyre was very pleased with win in Kirkcaldy:-
"It is a very difficult place to come and they had the handicap that we had on Tuesday night. It is not easy against ten men either and you could see that out there. Credit to Rovers they came right back into it. There was a spell in the second half where their keeper had a couple of unbelievable saves and then they went up the park and scored from a setpiece which was poor from our point of view but credit to them.
"It became an end to end game when we were trying to get in behind them and not force long balls. I felt we started to do that and it was a great we head flick from Ross Campbell and a great finish from David Graham. I thought he was excellent in the second half."
The Pars Manager did not want to comment on the results elsewhere that all seemed to work in Dunfermline's favour. Results that means Macca's men sit just three points behind Dundee:-
"Yes so people are saying but I really cannot be worrying about anybody else. We are playing catch up so we just have to take care of ourselves and see where that takes us. I am not really interested in anyone else."
Asked by the Rovers website if he thought that Greg Fleming was lucky to avoid a red card Jim McIntyre said:-
"I don't think it was a goalscoring opportunity and I think Greg was in command of the situation and took an eternity to deal with it. He cost himself a booking with that but I don't think it was a red card."
John McGlynn was very proud of his players whom he called tremendous and showed great courage to play for so long with ten men.
"I feel that the referee has got to show some common sense. There was a great atmosphere at that game but I thought that the referee killed it with the sending off; two bookings in two minutes - a bit of common sense from the referee would have allowed us to continue with a great derby game. It was a great game but would have been an even better game.
"The place went flat and dead for a long time after because of the sending off. With ten men a gap will open up, something will be created for them. David McGurn had one world class save and I think that was it basically.
"Dunfermline are a good team so to play with ten men against them for so long and get back level showed loads of courage and I am not complaining about our players.
"The lad went through and stuck the goal away really well, fair play to him but we kept on going to the death and it was disappointing that Johnny Russell looks as though he has done his knee in again, Greg Tade took a rap and Stephen Simmons is now suspended. We just never get out the bit here."
What was McGlynn's opinion of Greg Fleming's yellow card incident:-
"From where I am standing I cannot really tell, I am a million miles away from it but it looked like a bad tackle to me. I have seen players in other areas of the park sent off for something like that, it happens."
