Board Statement
Thursday, 14th Jan 201014/01/10:- The Club will launch a detailed appeal at the earliest opportunity
Decision of SFA Emergency Committee
William Hodgins, Chief Executive and Jim Leishman, Director of Football attended an Emergency Committee meeting at Hampden earlier this afternoon and explained to the Committee that the Club had fielded a suspended player following an administrative error.
A further issue regarding the completion of the team sheet was also ruled to be in breach of the regulations despite the problem being rectified at least 40 minutes prior to kick-off and to the satisfaction of the referee and Stenhousemuir. The referee also clarified the position with the SFA at the time. The committee counted not only the original but also the amendment as separate breaches!
The Club would wish to make clear that the punishment of expulsion from the Scottish Cup competition was wholly excessive in comparison to the alleged breach of rules and the Club will launch a detailed appeal at the earliest opportunity.
