Weather Forecast
Jim McIntyre prepared his team today in full expectation that the match at Palmerston Park will go ahead. He found weather forecasting added to things that a football manager is asked to comment upon:-
"The weather forecast is that it will be dry in Dumfries all night and up until eleven o'clock tomorrow morning. I spoke to Gordon Chisholm this morning and the pitch is playable as it stands but from eleven until six it is to get hammered with rain tomorrow so we are in the lap of the gods. We will go, prepare properly and if it is on its on; if its not then there is not really a lot we can do."
Joe Cardle went over on his ankle in Tuesday night's Reserve game at East Fife so he will sit out the match along with Calum Woods and Stephen Glass. Scott Muirhead is available but well short of match fitness.
The Manager acknowledged that the first meeting between the sides on the last Saturday in September resulted in a heavy home defeat for the Pars:-
"It was a heavy defeat 4-1 despite dominating most of the stats. The bottom line was that we made crucial errors on the day and got punished for them. That's how we lost the game.
"That game's gone. We have good record down there and want to keep that going. It is a really tough venue, one of the toughest on the card but we are in confident spirits and so should Queens be so it has the makings of a good game."
Here's hoping Macca will be singing in the rain!
