Considering Andy Kirk is away on international duty with Northern Ireland, Pars Manager Jim McIntyre was always going to be forced to make a change to his winning team but he revealed at lunchtime today that Calum Woods would also miss the match against Partick Thistle. To add to his problems Stephen Glass is still out and Joe Cardle's chances of making the game he rated no better that 50/50.

"Stephen Glass has had fluid taken out his knee but hopefully he will be training next week and Scott Muirhead is back in training."

The Manager felt that last week's good result at Starks Park came as a consequence of a good performance:-

"We continued the type of football and got the right result. We deservedly won the game; we could have made it more comfortable had we scored a couple in the first half. The pleasing thing was that they kept going with the belief in the way we were playing to get the result . The goal to win it was just fantastic football. It was a great move, great link play and a great cross that is just so hard to defend. Wee Davie was there to put pressure on Wilson to put it in. We were patient, we kept trying to pass it and get at them in the wider areas and got our just reward in the end."

It took an own goal to separate the teams last Saturday and Macca agreed that lack of clinical finishing in front of goal is his teams biggest problem:-

"Most definitely, we need to put away a higher percentage of the chances we get to make life easier for us. As long as they are getting in those positions then I am confident that we will score."

Partick Thistle were the opposition for what the Pars Manager considers to be his teams worst performance of the season back in September:-

"We were really poor on the day and Thistle were poor as well. We gifted them a goal in the first half and in fact we gifted them two goals but they deserved to beat us because they were better than us in the second half. It was a poor game of football but we have come a long way since that performance. Hopefully the players will go out and show what they are capable of."

Partick v Dunfermline

Added bite is the meeting against a former manager of Jim McIntyre:-

"Ian McCall is a good manager and somebody I really enjoyed playing for. His training was excellent, he is a good guy and it will be good to see him again. The games between us are, nine times out of ten,  relatively close. I don't expect it to be any different this time. They have good players and experience about their team. It will be a difficult game."

Half Time at Firhill

In the last week, the Pars gaffer has loaned out two of his promising Under 19 players, Lee Graham and Jordan White, to Clyde. He explained his reasons behind those decisions:-

"They are not ready to play in our team and to go and play first team football in the Second Division is the next part in their development. The chance is there for Jordan at the age of 17 to go and see what he can do at that level. Hopefully it will make him and Lee stronger, educate them what the game is all about at first team level and come back here all the stronger.

"Jordan has come on a ton; he has done really well so hopefully he can score a few goals for Clyde and come back and be part of the squad."
