Greg Fleming Post Morton

"There have been times when I have made mistakes that have cost us goals but thankfully today I made a few saves and won the game."

Pars keeper Greg Fleming was presented with the Man of the Match Award after the win over Morton on Saturday. He was relieved to have made a performance that warranted the award to extinguish the memories of matches where he knew that he had not done so well:-

"I was just doing my job really. There have been times when I have made mistakes that have cost us goals but thankfully today I made a few saves and won the game."

Greg made several crucial save but felt that his best save was at the goal when former Gretna team mate Ryan McGuffie followed it in to score.

"Thankfully Steven Bell scored to make it safe with not long to go. Davie Graham did well for the first goal to set up Joe and did well again to score the second. We have taken our chances when they had come along and that helps. The first half wasn't our best but we picked it up and got the three points which was the most important thing."

Even as a Pars supporter the 23 year old Pars keeper was oblivious of the fact that his team had not registered back to back home league wins for over a year:-

"It is a massive surprise to me but we have a home game next week where we can hopefully pick up from today and get another three points."

Greg is happy playing for his hometown club since he feels that he might still have been waiting on games had he stayed at Oldham Athletic.

"It is good here, you want to be playing football and down the road I might not have been playing as much as I want. Up here I am getting a chance to play.

"I have been away for a year but the standard is not too different. This is the tightest division in Scotland. Results show that anybody beats anybody on their day. If you put a good run together you never know what you can do."

Morton's caretaker manager James Grady was a team mate of Greg at Gretna and scored the all important goal that took them out of the First Division. Greg gave a vote of confidence for his old pal:-

"I thought Morton looked to try and pass the ball about, if he was to get the job he could do well for them. He has always had that, I feel he is a good coach and very enthusiastic. It would be nice to see him get the job."
