Dunfermline Athletic were proud to host Scotland's first Under 17's qualifying match for the European Championship 2009/10. This, the first match of the Group 10 matches which are all hosted in Scotland, was played at East End Park against Cyprus.
Dunfermline U17 player Kevin McHattie started for Scotland. After a goalless first half 14 year old Islam Feruz came on for Scotland and in 55 minutes Callum McGregor put the home side into a deserved lead.
Unfortunately Kevin was forced to retire with cramp 15 minutes from the end and then Olympiakos player, Pieros Sotiriou scored an equaliser and two minutes into added time the Cypriots broke down the left for Nikos Englezou to drill the ball past keeper Robbie Thomson.
