Andy Dowie Post Partick
Monday, 21st Sep 2009"Both teams were poor - they were better than us, but that just says how poor we were."
Andy Dowie's assessment of the game certainly agrees with most.
"It was a poor team performance. We set ourselves high standards and we've fallen well below them. We're very disappointed. Both teams were poor - they were better than us, but that just says how poor we were."
He did have some sympathy towards McCann, who gave away the first goal and was substituted immediately. "That's the Manager's decision. As a defender you tend to have one or two moments like that a season."
Dowie is now looking forward to the midweek cup match against Hearts and an opportunity for the Pars to put today's disappointment behind them.
"It was a really bad day at the office. We had a good week's training, but then sometimes it just doesn't happen for you. If we get a good performance on Wednesday hopefully it can kickstart our league season. We've got nothing to lose, it means we can afford to take our eye off the league for a week."
