"We know that even when we had eleven men we didn't start the game well enough to be in a position to complain about the result. Raith Rovers came here battled, scored good goals

Dunfermline v Raith Rovers

For stand in captain Graham Bayne the defeat at the hands of the club from the town of his birth was bitterly disappointing and full of bewildering decisions:-

"We made it a lot harder for ourselves going 1-0 down and then losing a man a minute after at. For the first half hour of the second half we tried and created chances, there were a few scrambles."

One of those scrambles included a powerful header from a Joe Cardle corner that the corner kick taker and fans in line with the goalposts claimed crossed the line. Graham was no willing to pontificate over the validity of the claims::-

"I don't know, I couldn't see from where I was 12 yards out. If it was not in it was a fantastic save but the linesman would have been in a good position to see it. It has not been given and it was the turning point in the game.

"The sending off straight after they scored and then a goal that maybe wasn't one and then they go up the field and score. That was it for the ten men.

"We battled and still created a few opportunities with a couple of goalmouth scrambles."

Dunfermline v Raith Rovers

Graham described the biggest scramble where the Pars were denied:-

"Kirkie shot, got it past the goalie, from what I remember, a guy has turned away from it but it hit his knee came back out. I think it was that one that bounced over my head, Kirkie tried to header it in, it was saved on the line again then Nicky had a shot and it got blocked again. You can say that it was not your day but we know that even when we had eleven men we didn't start the game well enough to be in a position to complain about the result. Raith Rovers came here battled, scored good goals and won the game.

"Willie is very upset about the sending off. He is an honest enough boy Willie - the two of them were nipping each other from the throw ins and Willie is adamant that he he has not done anything wrong. The linesman made his decision on what he believed happened. Again I never saw it and I am not in a position to comment other than backing my team mate up knowing that he is honest enough to admit it if he had done it."
