David Graham Post Inverness CT
Monday, 10th Aug 2009"In my opinion the better team lost but we have to play like that every week and we will win more games than we will lose games.
David Graham described Saturday's defeat as sickener:-
"We just have to focus on the positives because I thought we played well. The pitch was a bit long and sticky but we tried to get the ball down and play well. We had waves of attack with their keeper pulling off saves and hitting the bar. Things were getting blocked and deflected wide but for that to happen at the end it knocks the stuffing out of you."
The 92nd minute goal was a real kick in the teeth for Dunfermline who were left to rue not taking any of the numerous chances that came their way during the 90 minutes against Terry Butcher's side. David felt that they just had to accept it and get over the kind of start that they did not want:-
"We have just got to pick our heads up and go out next week to try and get a positive result next week. In my opinion the better team lost but we have to play like that every week and we will win more games than we will lose games.
"We just want to get as many points on the board and see what happens come the end of the season. I need to get shots in and score goals, then hopefully we can get the victories."
Although coming close to winning the man of the match award for the second week running, the 26 year old was bitterly disappointed with the result and critical of his own game:-
"I have to work on things that I could have done better and if the opportunity arises again I will not hit the keeper but put it in the top bin from 20 yards next time hopefully.
"Last season we didn't deserve to win many of our home games because we played poorly but against Inverness, alright we lost, but we didn't deserve to lose. We have not got a fear of playing here but that has been put to bed. We just want to get the ball down, play and entertain the fans. It is good to see that they appreciate what we are trying to do. To get that ovation at the end of the game after a defeat is pleasing."
