Today Dunfermline Athletic Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Neil McGregor on a two year contract.
Neil starred in our home friendly against Coventry on Wednesday 29th July as a trialist In his post match comments Manager Jim McIntyre said:-
"He played very well and I was delighted with him. He has been with us three days, he has shown a great appetite and great desire. I thought he did exceptionally well."
The 24 year old defender has done enough to earn a contract that sees him re-united with former team mate Chris Higgins at East End Park.
Irvine born, McGregor began his career with Kilmarnock before signing for Clyde in the summer 2005 scoring on his debut in the Scottish Challenge Cup against Brechin City. McGregor had gone from strength to strength after joining Clyde, and was awarded the Man of the Match award during Clyde's 5-2 extra time defeat to Rangers in the Scottish League Cup.
McGregor was selected in the SPFA First Division Team of 2006-07. He was released by Clyde in June 2009 along with the rest of the out of contract players, due to the club's financial position.
