Jim McIntyre was happy to win the cup tie:-
"I thought that there was a lot of great stuff; we were cruising in the second half after we scored. Some of our play was excellent and I felt we should have scored a couple more given the deliveries into the box and some of the the chances but we shot ourselves in the foot a bit.
"It was a poor decision, the keeper has got to come for it but we gave them a goal. That gave them a lift and you could see that. We got slack at the back and misplaced passes and they should have scored again from that."
Had the Pars Manager been concerned at half time?
"We put in some amount of crosses in the first half but didn't get any joy from them. They kind of hit the keeper a couple of times, there were a few spilled and yes, you do start to think its against you. You have got to keep believing and getting into the right areas. I felt in the first half that we just didn't move it quick enough.
"The pitch was very sticky; we soaked it before but with the weather it has just dried out in certain places. I said to the players that they would need to pick the tempo up, we were just taking one touch too many. Arbroath were well organised, they were disciplined and to get in behind them we had to shift it quicker. I felt in the first 25 minutes of the second half we did that and got down the side of them."
The Manager was delighted to see Andy Kirk make the breakthrough in the fourth minute of the second half.
"That's Kirkie for you; he wasn't in the game a lot up until then but he is a natural goalscorer and he can come up with that. He is probably the only player in our team that can."
