Graham aiming up

"We want to be in the SPL, everybody wants to play at as high a level as possible and we will work our hardest to get there.

David Graham feels that matches against Dundee United and Hibs have shown the Dunfermline players just what they want to aspire to:-

"These are the teams that you want to play against. Hibs will be challenging for third place in the SPL so it gives us a marker to look towards.

"We did alright at times but sometimes our choices were wrong. That is the difference, the higher the level you go up the more you have to make the right choices at the right time."

David Graham's attacking style had the Dunfermline fans roaring on Saturday and out doing the much more numerous travelling support at times.

"I like to get bums off seats. A few of my managers have said that to me before but the main thing is that the team do well. If we are doing better there will be bigger crowds and in such a good stadium, worthy of the SPL, you want to play in front of bigger crowds and fill it up as much as possible."

David describes the pre season with Dunfermline as "enjoyable" and he is grateful that it is the first pre season that he has not felt any small niggles.

"I am just looking forward to our two cup games getting under way, we have two cup games before our first league match. That will let us get two competitive games under our belt before the big kick off against Inverness Caley Thistle."

The Pars will be hoping that some of the David Graham promotion specialist role can be resurrected to assist them:-

"It is a tough tough league and the main thing is to get off to a good start. At Gretna and Hamilton we got off to a great start; we were up the top of the league from the word go. It is important to get a good start and build on it. Come the end of the season we will be looking for the rewards."

The 26 year old joked that hopefully he could see out the full season at the one club after his mid season moves from his previous clubs, Gretna and Hamilton Accies. It would be nice of course if his lucky charm that saw both his former clubs promoted to the SPL, could work at East End Park:-

"I have been lucky to be at teams who have done that. It is an enjoyable experience and one that I want to get here. We want to be in the SPL, everybody wants to play at as high a level as possible and we will work our hardest to get there."

So in the eyes of someone who has achieve promotion out of the First Division, has the Dunfermline squad got what it takes?

"They are pretty similar, there are experienced boys here like we had at Gretna - alright we obviously had the money at Gretna- but at Hamilton we had youth. I wouldn't say that the squad here is any better or any less, we have a good squad and a good blend. Hopefully we can get a run of results together and a bit of luck this season so that we can be up there challenging.

"There will be competition for places since there are more wide players here this season. It keeps everyone on their toes and can only bode well for the team."
