The Return of Bamba
Saturday, 18th Jul 2009Sol Bamba delighted to return and reveals that he loves the Pars, well who wouldn't?
Sol Bamba was visibly very pleased to return to East End Park and he freely admitted to look out for Dunfermline matches every week:-
"I played here for two years and I have a lot of memories of the fans, cup final and some bad things as well but I always remember the good things. I came to see the team on Tuesday against Dundee United and I think they have some good young players. Hopefully they can do something next season because that is the club I have in my heart and I hope they do well.
"My favourite memory was the cup final, we lost the game in the last minute I think but it was a good game for me. It was two years ago but I still live here in Dunfermline because I love the city and all the fans have been good to me. It was strange to be here to play against them but it was good. I had a job to do."
Sol was reminded that one of his happiest moments for Dunfermline was at the expense of his current club in the semi final of the Scottish Cup in 2007:-
"The Hibs fans still remind me about that and joke about it. I always watch for Dunfermline's results on the internet and come when I can. It is a big club for me and I am always going to do that."
The Ivory Coast have given Sol four international caps since he moved to the Easter Road club but he was making sure that he made clear just how he felt about Dunfermline:-
"The move has done me good in terms of my international career, that is why I remember how good the Board and Jim Leishman were to me. I love this club."
