Scouts important for Stephen

The new Head of Youth knows that a good scouting regime will be an important part of any success that the youth set up can give Dunfermline. Currently that is not the priority as Stephen Wright explained:-
"I need to bring in coaches first. There's no point in me getting the job and then fixing up scouts. I could be getting the very best players from scouts but if I do not have the right coaches in place, it is wasted.
"My priority is to get the right coaches in then scouts to identify the players. It is up to us then to try and develop them.
"In the next few months I will address scouts, I will bring in people I know or people who have a talent for scouting.
"We need to work alongside local boys clubs teams and associations to establish a good relationship. I'm sure these boys clubs managers would like to see their boys get an opportunity at Dunfermline before they go to Hearts, Hibs, Celtic or Rangers.
"As a boys club manager you do not want to be giving anyone your best players but there is a way you can work together.
"I know that kids pass East EndPark to go through to Murray Park to train every night. We must get the best kids in Fife to get a trial at Dunfermline.
"I will need to look at the scouting structure, get people in different areas to watch games.
"It can work both ways.If we can have a good relationship with local boys clubs, we can as a club help them."
