Jim McIntyre fielded a trialist at Forthbank on Wednesday night and after the match revealed who the mystery man was.
"I have invited 19 year old Ben Carson who has just been released from St Mirren to join us for pre season training. The midfielder was a runner on the 'A' licence course that I did at Largs in the summer and showed up well there. We will need to make a decision soon, so far he has fitted in well and did well at Stirling, but we are top heavy in that department. At the end of the day he will have to be better than what we have got."
Ben won the Clydesdale Bank Rising Star Award in November 2008 and was at St Mirren from the age of 13 after spending one season at Hibs.
On the signing front, Jim McIntyre admits to be being in talks with possible goalkeeper signings but he added:-
"I will not be rushed, it has to be the keeper that I want! He may be in by Saturday, maybe not."
The Manager was pleased with his side's first outing at Stirling but disappointed that Steven Bell hurt his ankle ligaments and left Forthpark on crutches.
