Manager Midweek update
Wednesday, 20th May 200920/05/09: Andy Dowie comes in but Iain Williamson leaves East End Park.
Jim McIntyre took time out at half time in the play off match between Ayr United and Airdrie to tell the website how pleased he was to have secured the services of Andy Dowie:-
"He is a good stature at six foot one and has good physique. He made 35 appearances last season for Ross County."
The Pars gaffer also confirmed that he had released 21 year old Iain Williamson. Iain was a product of Dunfermline's youth policy and made his debut at Ibrox while eighteen year old coming on as substitute in an SPL match against Rangers on 11th November 2006. For two seasons Iain was very much part of the first team squad although most of his appearances were from the bench.
In 2006-2007 Iain won the Pars Young Player of the Year Award and his involvement that season included the Scottish Cup final. After eleven appearances in 2008-09 Iain went out on loan to Raith Rovers. Macca felt that Iain's career needed a fresh start and despite the Edinburgh lads great enthusiasm felt that neither the player or his manager really knew what was his best position.
