DAFC Open Day
Sunday, 17th May 2009Hundreds flocked to East End Park to enjoy the 2009 Dunfermline Athletic Open Day.
Weather was kind and the 2009 Open Day on Sunday 17th May proved to be a great day out for everyone. Whole families enjoyed the outing with a BBQ and beer garden for the adults and ice-cream, bouncy castles and face painting for the kids. A new addition was the Army Assault Course and there was a mini fairground with a number of rides outside the East Stand. Adults and kids could also try their luck at a Crossbar Challenge, Shooting Skill Test or Speed Test.
Fans could meet players - Paul Gallacher, Greg Paterson, Calum Woods, Greg Shields, Scott Wilson, Scott Muirhead, Austin McCann, Steven Bell, Simon Wiles, Nick Phinn, Graeme Holmes, Alex Burke, David Graham, Graham Bayne, Andy Kirk, Jordan White, Lee Graham, Ryan Thomson. Manager Jim McIntyre and his assistant Stephen Wright circulated through the crowd and there was also be the chance for fans to meet a number of past players including cup winning captain Roy Barry, Jim Bowie, Bonar Mercer, Kenny Thomson and Kenny Ward.
Attendees were treated to a variety of stalls and demonstrations from the likes of DAFC's Community teams, Beautique beauty salon, the Scottish Keepieuppie Champion, Fife Fire and Rescue Service, the Pars Supporters Trust, the Young Pars and the Dunfermline Athletic Supporters Club .
