Jim McIntyre felt that his team should have turned around two or three goals ahead at the interval:-
"I thought we dominated in the first half. You always have that wee nagging doubt in your mind after the way that its been at home this season, that it is going to come back to haunt you. Credit to them, we took the lead then lost a poor goal. We should have been more comfortable that what it was but it was an even second half with us having the better chances.
"It was a makeshift defence, we were at the barebones with Nicky Phinn and Scott Wilson only passing fitness tests before the game. Both went over on their ankles the day before. With having a few out already and three kids on the bench as well - Paul Willis is the only one who has had some first team action.
"The other two aren't ready at all, so we juggled the full backs about and credit to them because a few of them put their hands up to say 'yes I can play there gaffer'. That's what you are looking for when you are down in numbers - people who put their hands up to play out of position to help you out. That shows great spirit."
Scott Wilson's ankle injury forced him to retire after 25 minutes, hobbling off the East End surface possibly for the final time.
"His ankle was giving him bother and he couldn't move properly so we adjusted again. Stephen Glass filled in at full back and we moved Scott Muirhead in to centre back. He and McCann did really well, I thought they competed well, were aggressive and their use of the ball was good as well. I was very very pleased considering they were up against Weatherston who is a clever player who uses his body well and will give you problems."
The Pars gaffer was asked if decisions had been made on contracts and personnel for next season. He revealed that he had his budget meeting and intends to inform the players that will be leaving on Thursday.
"We will look to may some signings in the summer. There will be further cuts, it is as simple as that - everybody is cutting their cloth accordingly. We are not different, the budget will be vastly reduced from what it was last year, vastly reduced. We have just got to make do and try and wheel and deal, and find a wee gem out there.
"It will be difficult to get back back into the SPL next season but we will be giving it our all to do that."
