Gall bitterly disappointed

Paul Gallacher was one of a number of Pars players who stopped to analyse the semi final defeat with the media. The deeply disappointed keeper felt that there wasn't much between the sides:-
"There were not a lot of clear cut chances; it is not as if they opened us up all day. We got done by a setpiece and a penalty ultimately. Mole had a chance in front of goal but you have to be more clinical. It is a difficult one to take."
Paul had been the Pars player of the first half and although save by the woodwork on one occasion he felt that his team contained Falkirk up to the break.
"It was looking good and we were restricting their efforts to from a distance. It is just so frustrating; we did alright without setting it alight. It is a missed opportunity it really is, it is hard to take. No team today has been absolutely magnificent - they just took their chances and you will not get many better chances than that to get to a Cup Final."
Tom Scobbie's 54th minute goal was the turning point. Gall talked us through it:-
"He lost his marker; I came and stopped. There are a few things going through the boys heads for the following five or ten minutes that maybe we should have done better. Nipper was struggling with injury and had to get another injection at half time - he was playing through the pain barrier.
"It was a great time for them to score and a bad time for us. We just had to charge forward, it was all or nothing really.
"I don't think there was any doubt about the penalty, Neil McCann is an intelligent player, I don't think he touched the ball he just came across Greg as he tried to clear it. He went down."
Paul went the correct way diving to his right when Scott Arfield took the 89th minute penalty:-
"I thought I had saved it but it was not to be. We are bitterly disappointed because the fans turned up in their numbers to cheer us on. They were absolutely fantastic. If we had played that five or ten per cent better then we might have snuck it.
"We can't just look at the negatives, we have to take as many positives as possible out of that and hopefully we can win all the remaining games through to the end of the season. Two of these are at home and it would be good to put that record to bed with a couple of nice results."
