Calum Woods was gutted by the Cup defeat by Falkirk
"I am absolutely gutted for everyone - the fans, the players and the Club. I am devastated because we were hoping to do well and get a result out of it.It would have been good for us to get to the final."
The Pars defence had denied Falkirk in the first half and at half time Calum said that the team felt they had a great chance:-
"We knew that we hadn't been playing that good in the first half. Unfortunately it wasn't to be.I'm not too sure what happened at the goal. There were a few runners who just ran right across and he just ended up on the end of it. They put more pressure on us and we didn't create much or have many chances."
Calum had been yellow carded in the first half meaning he would have been suspended had his side progressed but he claimed that he had put that out of his mind.
"I didn't want to get sent off as that would have made it even harder for us with ten men.We lost out to a set piece and a penalty. When Thomson was forced to go off in 56th minute when his ribs stiffened up as the effects of a pre match injection wore off, Calum was moved to central defence alongside Scott Wilson.
Scott Thomson explained how he couldn't go on:-
"I took a pain killing injection before the game and felt fine.I had taken a pain killing injection at training on Friday and it felt fine.It got me through training.I played the first half but the worst thing for me was coming in and stopping.
"It just stiffened right up and I didn't feel great at all.I turned around to big Scott Wilson just two or three minutes into the second half and said that I wasn't right at all.I wasn't feeling mobile. As the injection wore off after the game it was quite painful.
"I am not sure if I can play for the rest of the season, I will see Gerry Docherty on Monday but I will be struggling."
For Nipper it was a sore result as well but he felt that his team just didn't turn up on the day.
"We were poor and didn't have many shots at goal until the last ten minutes when they were sitting on their 1-0 lead. That is going to happen, you are always going to have five or ten minutes in a game but although I hate to say it, I think the better team on the day won it.
"Paul Gallacher had some good saves and had a great save at the end to stop it being 3-0. Basically we didn't turn up, we know that; it was a great chance for us, a great occasion for the fans but we let ourselves down - we were poor."
