Steven Bell Post Airdrie

Steven Bell was delighted to get the start at Airdrie on Saturday. Manager Jim McIntyre dropped him after the Ross County match and had a chat with Steven on Monday before Tuesday night's match against Dundee. Steven explained what happened:- "He said that he was going to go for 4-4-2 but that I didn't played well enough against Ross County. I know it was justified but felt that no one really played well against Ross County. "He is the Manager and if that is what he wants to do I just need to accept it. He said that I did well against Dundee when I came on so he put me in the team today." In the first half Pars fans were celebrating a Steven Bell goal until referee Charlie Richmond disallowed it:- "I am a wee bit gutted with the 'goal' I didn't get; it was a fair challenge. I was just up early and the boy never timed his jump and I was above him. He said that I pushed him but I never pushed him. Then I had a chance after that when big Baynee was screaming for it. It was one of those chances; you go to score it and if you don't score you need to take the flack. "We dominated the first half and then second half they were going to get an ear bashing and come storming out. We just never matched them and to be fair were quite lucky to get a draw in the end. "There is no denying it, we are down there beside them and if they had won today they would just have been four points behind us. It was a great incentive to find an equaliser and keep them at distance."
