"I don't often get very many tap ins, it usually me that's doing the challenging but thanks to the Manager he has made a nuisance of himself

QOS v Dunfermline 13/12/08
Graham Bayne's "tap in"

Graham Bayne's 88th minute goal on Saturday was his fourth in this league campaign but each time its been in a winning game. Graham was happy to talk over the highlights of the victory:-

"You have always got to believe that it is coming but once you start creating so many good ones you do start to wonder. Credit to the whole team, they kept on right until to the end. It was a fantastic three points for us. The difference between three points and one point when the league is so tight is massive."

The 29 year old found it hard to comprehend that he had been left with such a simple finish to win the match for his teams:-

"I don't often get very many tap ins, it usually me that's doing the challenging but thanks to the Manager he has made a nuisance of himself and it has broken kindly to me so I am not going to refuse ones like that.

"It was a long ball in and the Manager held off the defender and the goalie came to try and catch it but actually hit his own player as he has come to get it. It is a difficult one because when a goalie goes down everyone automatically looks for a foul. It is maybe that little bit of luck our play deserved today and I am quite happy to take the three points."

2-1 Pars

The winner was a bit of relief given the number of fantastic chances Athletic created in the opening 45 minutes:-

"I can't remember a game that I have played in anywhere where we had three one on one incidents in the first half, another one in the second, hit the post and had narrow misses. Gerry McCabe reiterated after the game just how the most pleasing thing for him was the fact that we did create the chances. It is good but we have to got to take them. Myself and Kirkie as strikers, will bore the brunt of that but we stuck to our guns and managed to deliver.

"We started well and I thought we dominated for the vast majority of the first half, then Queens came into it for ten or fifteen minutes spell. They got their goal off that with a good finish.

"We had to come back in, we have done that a few times this season - it just proves the character, togetherness and there is nothing more pleasing and better way to win at the end when you have stuck to it by showing the belief and team spirit to pull it through."

Rory Loy joined Graham Bayne upfront for the last 38 minutes and the striker who joined Dunfermline in the summer from Inverness Caley Thistle thought the 20 year old loan striker from Rangers was "magnificent".

"His pace, his directness, his overall contribution when he came on brought us that something else. He looks as though he could be a very good signing for us.

"He wasn't just enthusiastic, he showed that he had the composure to pass the ball when it was on and shoot when the chance was right."
