Dunfermline Athletic's Youth initiative attracts attention from Republic of Ireland.

Noel Hunt, Gary Dempsey, Richie Byrne, Bobby Ryan - there is a list of Pars players who have come to East End Park from the Republic of Ireland. Now there are hopes that youngsters from the Wicklow District Schoolboys League will be interested in coming to Dunfermline.

Michael Mordaunt (centre above) recently met Davie Hunter and Jim Leishman to discuss the possibility of their U13 squad coming to Dunfermline next May. The Irish youngsters hope to take part in a tournament with their Dunfermline counterparts and experience some specialist coaching from Hamish French and the Dunfermline Athletic coaches.

Wicklow District have 22 teams competing at youth level and have a full complement of participants from the age of 11 upwards.
