Austin McCann Post Morton
Saturday, 22nd Nov 2008"That's three on the trot we have lost at home. If you want to win the league that is not good enough. We have to rectify that although it is hard to pinpoint exact
Few of the players really wanted to talk about another Pars home defeat, it was a very glum Austin McCann who spoke after the game.
"We spoke about it after the game but the gaffer says it was a shoulder charge. The ref saw it a different way, these things happen but we have to take it on the chin. It was a great finish but it didn't count.
"We had plenty of time to go on and get an equaliser but we never produced the goods."
Those goods would have put the Pars top of the table and this is something that the side apparent talked about before the game.
"With St Johnstone playing today the opportunity was there for us to be top of the league but we blew it really. We have a break now for a couple of weeks and the chance to get on the training ground and get some good work done. Hopefully we can look to the next game to get back on our winning ways.
"Morton have come here, done well and gone away with a victory. Our away form is probably the best in the league but that's three on the trot we have lost at home. If you want to win the league that is not good enough. We have to rectify that although it is hard to pinpoint exactly where that is.
"Teams come here, to possibly the best stadium in the league and enjoy playing here or just to sit in and frustrate us. Something's going wrong and we need to sort that out."
Austin was not upset by the fans reaction to their home performances, "the fans are just as frustrated as we are and want to win just as much as we do."
