Jim McIntyre's team trained at East End Park on Friday and following that the Dunfermline Athletic Manager talked about Saturday's match against Airdrie United. He clearly felt that the Pars should have one the first fixture between the teams back in August.
"We definitely deserved to win the game last time but this is a game that has to be taken on its own merits. Airdrie are doing well recently and we have been doing well so it has the makings of a good game.
"We will go there and do our best to win it but we will be showing Airdrie the respect they deserved and they have earned."
Macca was full of praise for his opponents under the management of Kenny Black:-
"They were undefeated in their first five games and then they had a period where they lost four in a row but they have bounced back with a couple of decent results. We are catching them at a period when they are full of confidence. They had a great result against Partick Thistle that I watched and they thoroughly deserved it and by all accounts they deserved it last week against Queen of the South.
"Kenny will have them pumped up, they will be organised and difficult to beat."
Scott Thomson has trained this week and is in contention following a thigh injury. Scott Wilson trained Thursday and Friday and will try again on Sunday and Monday to gauge any reaction. Stephen Bell is back however, leaving only Graeme Holmes the only other injured member of the first team squad. Yes, that also means Jim McIntyre is in training.
