Manager Post Thistle
Saturday, 18th Oct 2008"Paul Gallacher has had one crucial save at a crucial time in the game but other than that I thought we were the better side.
Jim McIntyre was pleased with what he coined 'a very good result' against Partick Thistle, a result that puts his team into second place in the First Division:- "It is only ten games into a long season. It is just important that we get as much out of the season as we can and try and get a consistent run together. That is three home victories and we must build on our home form if we are going to do anything. "We are just pleased to have won the game, Thistle is always a difficult game." Scoring the first goal is always important, no more so than in this game:- "I thought we were worthy of another couple - one from Kevin Harper, their keeper has pulled off a world class save when one was nestling in the top corner. Calum Woods header; how did that not go in when it hit the bar, the post and everything else. "Paul Gallacher has had one crucial save at a crucial time in the game but other than that I thought we were the better side." The Manager was pleased with his central defence, Greg Shields was awarded Man of the Match and Calum Woods continued to impress after filling in there so well:- "He has continued that one today and Greg Ross was magnificent considering he has not played a first team game really for two years. OK he had a couple of games at Cowdenbeath but that was fantastic." The Pars boss confirmed that his squad came through the match with no further injuries.
