Campaign to honour Townhill man
Wednesday, 8th Oct 2008As DAFC look forward to its Hall of Fame on Saturday, moves are afoot to persuade the SFA to honour Billy Liddell.
The career facts surrounding Billy Liddell are simply stunning. He scored 224 goals in 537 games for the Reds over fourteen years, the last of these appearances coming in 1960 at the age of 38. He was also capped 29 times by | ||

The group has already made a successful representation to the Scottish Parliament Petitions Committee at Holyrood, an event that was covered by Scottish Television News. A recent success for the group was when Fife Council, who have been very supportive of the group, agreed to rename the Townhill Sports Complex the Billy Liddell Sports Complex and it is hope to have a renaming event in the near future. | ||
