Manager Post Morton
Sunday, 28th Sep 2008"Managers may say inspired substitutions but at the end of the day a bit of luck comes into it.
Jim McIntyre:-
"I think we deserved a point, Morton had some good chances, but Graham Bayne had some good chances as well.He had one cleared off the line after we scored and Alex Burke had a great shot that has been clipped by.
"Morton have got big men up front. They have big Wake and Wetherston is very good at using his body as well. The two are a strong front pairing. That was a threat for them and they used that advantage.I thought we matched it well and I said to the players that it is all about the second ball.
"Scott Wilson's back went into a spasm after a challenge and that upset things a wee bit.Scott Wilson and Greg Shields have been rock solid but Scott Thomson filled in admirably. Calum Woods is a natural right back although he was at fault for what led to the goal."
Jim McIntyre's tactical substitution putting on Ross Campbell beside Graham Bayne and Andy Kirk was proven to be inspirational:-
"On the day I think Morton had the better of the second half. When you take a chance like that I think the boys showed a never-say-die attitude. Managers may say inspired substitutions but at the end of the day a bit of luck comes into it. You make a change and it worked on this occasion. We were under a bit of pressure and we had to go for it at one nil down. We went three at the back, put four into midfield and put three up top."
