Managers Post Ross County

Jim McIntyre described Scott Thomson's opening goal as fantastic:-
"I have not seen him do that many times from there. It was a great strike and a great bit of individual skill which we needed at the time. I didn't think we passed the ball particularly well and for me, Ross County started the game the brighter. It was well timed."
The gaffer could not claim that it was his inspired choice as replacement set piece taker:-
"The players decide amongst themselves whoever is feeling confident. Stephen Glass normally hits free kicks but with the normal guy not there he has stepped up and put it away with aplomb.
"It was excellent to see Nick Phinn and Steven Bell score. We have been working on getting the midfielders beyond the strikers, those two boys have certainly got the legs to do that. I was delighted for Bell because he is not 100% yet but to get a goal early on when he should have scored last time here, it is very pleasing for him. He will get better and better."
Macca joked that Steven Bell might well have been kicking himself for that miss against Livingston "I was kicking him worse".
"The most important thing for me was that he was getting in positions. Hopefully he can take as many of the chances that come his way."
The Manager expressed his delight that Hibs had agreed to loan Ross Campbell to Dunfermline:-
"He is with us for a month and he will give that bit of cover up front. He can also play wide and he is a wee nimble guy with a great strike on him. He knows where the goal is, I have watched him in several reserve games and he has always stood out. We are pleased that Mixu (Paatelinen) and Parkie have allowed him to come here for a month.
"He gives us more options because we do not have too many up front if Andy (Kirk) or Graham Bayne get injured. It is just a wee bit of competition really."
Kevin Harper came in for praise too from his Manager:-
"Right from the off his first thought was really positive - take the full back on and get crosses in. He put six or seven crosses in first half and it was disappointing that we didn't get more out of them. He is suffering from a bit of cramp but that is only natural since he has been out for a few weeks. We had an able replacement to come on in Simon Wiles. Simon looked lively when he came on as well although the boy defended him well."
Ross County Manager, Derek Adams felt that his team had plenty of possession and that they had started the game "very well":-
"The free kick that went in - it was a great free kick from Scott Thomson - that got them into the game and then it went 2-0. We got Richie Hart sent off for two bookings - I don't think it was a sending off. You go in for a tackle after they had Scott Thomson in for a late tackle and Scott Wilson and they never got spoken too. When you come to a big ground like this things don't go for you.
"We were in the game at 2-1 and still had a lot of possession. We were trying to play the football but when we got the man sent off that changed the flow of the game.
"We knocked it about and got it up to the strikers but probably weren't clinical enough about the box. We didn't get enough shots in on goal so it is disappointing for us today."
