Wednesday, 11th Mar 2009"I wanted to prove myself to the fans and I was glad to get a goal but disappointed to lose ..
David Graham scored a great goal against Livingston on Tuesday night but it wasn't enough to prevent the hosts taking all three points.
"We are disappointed to lose after scoring two good goals. I don't think anybody at the game could say that we didn't deserve anything out of it. At half time I said that I had never been involved in a game that was so one sided yet we came in a goal behind.
"We had nicks away and flashes across goal but it was obviously just one of those games."
It was David's third start for the Pars, his fourth appearance and the 25 year old player signed from Hamilton Academical at the end of January is desperate to display his skills to his new supporters:-
"I would play anywhere, I would play in goals if the gaffer asked me - I am just happy to get a starting jersey wherever it may be.
"I have not played with games being postponed and being cup tied so I was glad to get the opportunity to play. I wanted to prove myself to the fans and I was glad to get a goal but disappointed to lose."
"We got a bit deep after they scored and obviously they have nicked a goal again. That kind of deflates you and you have it all to do again. Unfortunately we couldn't do it.
"We created the chances to do it but that's the only positive that we can take out of it. We kept creating and kept going but we never got that next goal. If we hadn't created it would have been a bigger disappointment."
David's goal was special but he claimed that he has scored a few similar during his career:-
"I hit it hoping it went in. It is good to get off the mark and it has been a while since I scored - it was against Motherwell in the Co-operative Cup in September.
"We controlled the game and had the majority of the chances but we made mistakes that have cost us. We will just need to learn from that and cut out the mistakes. If we can create the chances we will win more than we will lose."
David, a cup finalist with Gretna in 2006 is cup tied for this competition having sat on the bench for Hamilton in the 1-0 win at Ross County in round four but never played.
"That's the rules of the game and I just have to deal with it. I will be cheering them on at Pittidrie next week. We have a right good chance and can go up there and give it our all. The draw against Falkirk in the semi final is a mouthwatering tie so hopefully we can you to PIttodrie and get a result."
