Iain Williamson Post St Johnstone
Saturday, 16th Aug 2008"It wasn't the best strike. The left back was coming in so I had to be quick about it. I got a snap shot at it, scuffed it a bit but they all count.
Having scored against Stirling Albion in the MG Alba Challenge Cup and hit the post at Firhill in the opening SFL match, Iain is proving to be quite a threat despite finding himself deployed wide right more than often. The 20 year old was delighted to be on the score sheet against St Johnstone.
His 43rd minute goal came just 20 minutes after replacing Kevin Harper at McDiarmid Park on Saturday:-
"It was good to get the first goal and get us started. We started really well today and just continued when I got on and scored a good goal. The Manager made it clear at half time that we needed to go out in the second half and do the same, I think we did. I think we deserved our 3-0 win.
"It wasn't the best strike, I was reaching for it a bit. The left back was coming in so I had to be quick about it. I got a snap shot at it, scuffed it a bit but they all count. That's two wins out of three now so we can build on that."
Our aim is promotion but it is only three games into the league season, I wouldn't get carried away yet but that is certainly our aim this season. We will just take it week by week and see how how it goes."
