Illness bugging Williamson

Iain Williamson hopes of forming a striking partnership with the Pars new hitman Graham Bayne suffered a blow when illness struck:-

"On Thursday I got a bit of a stomach bug.It's a bit of a set back because I was back in training on 25^th June with the others.  It has been good hard training, we have done a lot of running and it has been different.

"It has been challenging with Rab (Robert Kielty) the Fitness Coach putting us through good fitness work."

Iain fell ill just at the end of the fitness work and he confessed:-

"I have not seen a ball yet.Thursday afternoon was the first time we got it out.I have been taking it easy in my return.  They don't want me to do too much after not eating for three days.  I am feeling weak and they are all saying that I have lost weight and looking a bit gaunt.

"Training was a bit tiring today and I had to stop but I hope to be back in full training by Wednesday and be fit for next week."

Iain who got off the mark with a goal on the last day of the season against Queen of the South hopes to notch a few more in the forthcoming season.

"I like playing up front so hopefully I can get myself into the team by playing well."

The 20 year old whose first start was against Manchester United on 8th August last year, has made 11 appearances in the first team feels that the club's preparations are going well:-

"We have had a bright start and we are all very much together. Austria is brilliant.Maybe I have not fully tested the training facilities but they look nice" laughed Iain.  "The pitches and the accommodation are first class."

There is not a lot that can be done to control the volatile Austrian climate.Iain watched the storm brew that halted the opening friendly:-

"We saw it come over the hills at half time and in ten minutes it came from nothing to a storm.  The wind was horrific.   Me, Glass and Calum Woods were already inside.We had called our game off before the referee decided to halt the farce."
