Paul Gallacher Post Morton

Paul Gallacher lost three goals to Morton but he was probably the best Dunfermline player on the park:-
"You are under pressure right from the off. They are obviously fighting for their lives, they have something to play for and it showed today
"We were trying to vie for that fourth spot in the league but it didn't look like that against Morton at all. We were so off the pace it was frightening. We are bitterly disappointed as are the fans who paid good money to come and watch us. We are gutted for them and at the end of the day it just wasn't good enough."
The long throw ins from Erik Paartulu created problems for Dunfermline. Paul felt the blustery conditions did not help:-
"You could see it at bye kicks. The ball was holding up in the wind and they used it to their advantage. They are big boys; that is what they do. They had a game plan and they stuck to it. Unfortunately it worked for them today.
"To lose any goal is disappointing; the manner in which we lose them is hard to take. They were sloppy goals that we should have defended much better."
Morton celebrate the first goal
Jim McIntyre admitted that he lost his man to allow Morton''s second goal:-
"We were trying to squeeze up as far as we can to let the ball come through to myself or out of the park. We were at sixes ans sevens, all over the place there. He has not matched his runner. The Gaffer put his hand up but we have lost another goal. It is not good enough and we are so disappointed and it is hard to take.
"The third goal was a good finish from the boy but it came from ourselves being sloppy again. We had the chance to clear it but we don't. It was a good finish from Finlayson but we had a chance to do better leading up to the goal.
"We were off the pace, we can only apologise for that - it was just a typical end of season game I think. You always say that but we were still vying for that fourth place but it didn't look like that. They were playing for their lives and could drop down a division so it is a lot more serious. They looked up for it but unfortunately we were second best."
