Dunfermline have not beaten St Johnstone this season, having had two draws and a defeat in the league and also lost to the Perth team in the Challenge Cup Final.  Asked how he expected the game to go tomorrow the Manager said:

"Obviously we want to build on the result during the week.We know it will be a difficult game, they made a few changes during the week but I would expect their key players to come back in for Saturday's game.

"We have a couple of injuries from Tuesday night but will wait and see how they are.Glass is back from suspension which is great, he's an important player and will be in contention."

After the three goals at Forthbank on Tuesday night the gaffer was looking for more balls hitting the net at McDiarmidPark:-

"Hopefully we could score three every week, in an ideal world that would be brilliant. We will do our best to try and make the chances and try and take them."

Obviously, if the team is scoring goals it gives the team a bit of confidence and the fans a boost - are the goals going to be spread around the team a bit?

"That's something we have spoken about, to get goals from all areas of the pitch.Scoring goals gives everybody confidence but more importantly winning games breeds confidence. So hopefully we can get a couple more wins in the last 5 games."

Macca has taken to the role of Player/Manager, he is enjoying it but is the first to admit it is not an easy task to be drafted into:-:

"I won't kid anyone on, it's difficult but I'm relishing it and really enjoying it. Obviously that's why I brought in an experienced number two in Gerry (McCabe). It's not an easy thing to do jumping from the dressing room to manager, but it's what I want to do and I want to be successful. I obviously want to keep playing as long as I can and I've just not had a chance with injuries and stuff and there's not really been a lot of reserve games to try and get some fitness up.

"There's no doubt that it's a problem that the First Division don't have a reserve league and its just Cup games and they are quite sporadic, every three or four weeks and that doesn't help, you really need a reserve league every week so that boys can keep up their match fitness. The next reserve game is on 8th April against Forfar.

"There is only one way to get match fitness and that is through playing. Players get frustrated if they are not getting a chance to show in a game situation. The other side of that coin is a couple of injuries and you have to throw them straight in. Then they're maybe not ready and they are off the pace a bit. Sometimes the fans get frustrated and the players get frustrated and it's not ideal and it definitely doesn't help because they are lacking games."

Meanwhile the club has confirmed that Tam McManus' registration with Dunfermline Athletic has now been cancelled.  Everyone at DAFC would like to wish Tam all the best for his MLS future when he plays in the USA with Colorado Rapids.

McManus has made 32 appearances while at Dunfermline, scoring three times.  He had started his career with Hibernian, spending eight seasons at Easter Road before leaving for Dundee.  From there he went to Falkirk before joining the Pars in February 2007.  Tam had loan spells with East Fife, Airdrie and Boston United during his time with Hibs.
