Iain Williamson Post Dundee
Saturday, 22nd Mar 2008"We threw everything forward near the end and were a bit unlucky not to get something out of the game."
Having suffered an achilles injury and then a groin strain injury on his return in the reserves, Iain Williamson was given a 25 minute run against Dundee when he came on to take the place of Alex Burke. Iain described how good it was to be playing first team football again after a gap of 11 weeks:-
"I have been injured for a while and it is great to get back in and get a shot again. It has been a bad time and I have played a couple of away games now.
"I thought we were the better team in the first half, I didn't think they had much. Chances-wise I think we had the better and play-wise we had the better but it was very disappointing to lose a goal. We threw everything forward near the end and were a bit unlucky not to get something out of the game."
Iain's preferred position is either wide midfield or up front. In recent reserve games he has been deployed wide left in midfield and against Dundee he popped up on both flanks to deliver useful balls. The 20 year old has the comfort of having another full year on his contract but he is keen to strengthen his challenge for a starting place in the team:-
"I felt I did alright and I just need to build on that. I just want to get as much play time as possible to prove myself."
