"We are not creating like we were creating maybe three or four weeks ago. The last couple of games we have not created much at all and that is the frustrating part."

Jim McIntyre felt that his side had slightly better of the first half without ever looking like scoring.

"It was a pretty even game, goals change games and we lost a poor goal from our point of view defensively. That gave them the lift. We tried to change it a couple of times just to get back in the game. They got a couple of other chances, otherwise I would rather lose two or three nil trying to get back into the game than just stay the same way."

The Pars gaffer dismissed suggestions that motivation was difficult:-

"We are all professionals and it is your duty to go out there and put on a show. We are all paid well and paid to play football. No, not at all. We have just got to look to try and get back on the winning track.  We seem to have lost our goalscoring threat at the moment.

"We are not creating like we were creating maybe three or four weeks ago. The last couple of games we have not created much at all and that is the frustrating part."

The Dunfermline Manager felt that there was very little between Hamilton and Dundee as they fight it out for the promotion place:-

"It is a good result for Dundee today but that is not our concern."

What will concern Macca is the loss of Calum Woods who now looks out of the midweek fixture at Forthbank:-

"Calum has had a couple of stitches in his ankle and has nicked an artery as well so he will be struggling for Tuesday. It is a quite a bad one."

Dundee Manager Alex Rae was happy to win what he described as a hard fought game for both teams.

"On the chances we created in the second half, we probably just shaded it. It was a great response after last week's disappointment. It's all credit to the boys because we have asked a lot of players to come in and do a job and they have done great.

"The foundation was our defence; they defended really well and the work rate throughout the team was different class. I have had a bit of a go at the players in the last couple of days but they responded ever so well today. They gave us everything they had."

Rae was pleased with Kevin McDonald's pass that put Freddie Daquin in for the goal:-

"I think he is one of those guys can do that kind of thing for us. He is just a kid really but he has a great potential."

The first half was a torrid affair and Alex Rae was well aware of that:-

"I think at any level of football you have to earn the right to play. You usually have to roll up the sleeves and battle. I think that is what both teams did and they kind of cancelled each other out without actually creating too many chances. As the game goes on you have to create more and more chances. Guys like Kevin start getting more space and that's when you start doing damage.

"This was a difficult one for us having lost last week, trying to pick the boys up because it was a body blow. We are just delighted to get back on track and it sets us up nicely for next week's game. We have just got to keep going, keep winning and hopefully ask questions later on."

Alex Rae also had some praise for the goalscorer:-

"It was really important that Freddie put it away for us. A steward just asked me how we got him to score a goal but I had said to Freddie to be a bit more offensive, get at people. Second half he did that well - he gives us another dimension.

"He gives you everything regardless. I think the fact that he doesn't hide in games is testament to him. He is a good character, a good boy to have about the place and I am pleased for him in particular. It is great for him to get a goal and hopefully it will lift his confidence for these last six games."
