Pars Manager, Jim McIntyre was delighted with his team's performance:-

"I thought we played very well, especially first half.  I don't think Paul Gallacher has had a save to make."

The gaffer ruled out the blustery conditions as a factor in the match:-

"No it was not actually; OK there was a bit of a wind but over the last few weeks we have played in a lot worse. I thought we did excellently - we got the ball down and pressed the game.  That's the way I want to play football - harry and harrass and then when we get the ball, get the ball down and pass it. I thought we did that.

"Calum Woods was excellent on the overlap and Nick Phinn on the right hand side was giving them real problems. Burkie had some great balls into the box as well.

"The pleasing thing is that we keep creating.  I said in the Programme notes that we would have to be a bit more ruthless at times. We need to kill games off when we get these chances but no I have not got a bad word to say about them.  I thought they were different class."

Hamilton Manager Billy Reid said:-

"We warned the players early doors that we had taken nine points out of nine against Dunfermline and you could see tonight that they made it a cup tie right from the off. Bemused by the penalty decision, I don't think that there were too many people in the ground knew what it was for.

"I couldn't see it and I know our bench could see much as well; we thought somebody had handled the ball. I don't think that was the case. I think Tomas Cerny the goalkeeper clashed with the guy (Simmons) and the two of them fell over each other. Next minute he gave a penalty. I think it was soft but I think from there our fighting spirit was evident - how much we want to win this championship. That's all I ask of players, we worked really really hard to get back into the game, scored when we deserved it and I think the second half was fairly even steven. We take the point and move on.

"We are a young side and Dunfermline have good players.  It wasn't easy out there.  There is a wee difference in terms of fitness in the second half.  They didn't have a game on Saturday and I think it showed a wee bit because late on we had tired legs.

"We thought if we could get the first goal.  Most times this season Dunfermline have halted against us. It wasn't to be - we found ourselves a goal behind to a soft penalty against a team that wants to turn you over because we have beaten them 3-0 and 5-0 in the last two games. That was evident for me."
