Jim McIntyre on Friday
Saturday, 8th Mar 2008Contract news for Calum Woods, Nick Phinn and Alex Burke
Jim McIntyre watched the Pars last match at Forthbank from the stand:-
"I wasn't in charge but it was a heavy defeat. It was a low point, but I watched the game and they deserved to win on the day We're a different team now and hopefully we can take the confidence we've gained recently into the game and go and win it. You don't get any easy games in this league and you've got to try to be professional and go there and get the win."
"The emphasis since I came in has been to catch the team in front and that's not changed one bit. You have to just peg back who's in front of you and see where you end up. We've got fewer numbers now. We've got rid of a lot of players so we're having to blood a couple of young boys. That's good experience for them from now until the end of the season."
The opportunity to blood even more inexperienced players looks likely to increase with news of the imminent departure of Tam McManus. Macca revealed:-
"Tom's been on trial with Colorado Rapids since Monday and he'll sign subject to agreeing personal terms" but added:-
"Burkie, Nick Phinn and Calum Woods have all signed two year deals. I'm delighted. They're good young players, well Burkie's not so young, but he's a good player. He's been getting better with each game. They're good acquisitions and I'm delighted to sign the three of them."
