Jim McIntyre Post Clyde
Saturday, 23rd Feb 2008"It was a great first goal from a great cross field ball from Alex Burke and a terrific header from Simmy.
Dunfermline Manager Jim McIntyre felt that Clyde put his team under a lot of pressure in the second half and he was pleased to return to Fife with the three points:-
"They got the goal but in the end we defended it well. I thought we were excellent in the first half; started the game we way we want to start games - positive and pressing the team. We were cutting them open and we took our goals well. It was a great first goal from a great cross field ball from Alex Burke and a terrific header from Simmy.
"We managed to get the second goal and we went in worthy of our 2-0 lead at the break. Second half was a different story, Clyde had a few chances and Paul Gallacher and the defence managed to stave them off.
"The wind was horrific for both sets of players. It was hard to judge the ball and even cross balls, one minute they are flying over you and the next minute the boys were saying it has just died. You think the ball is coming in to you and then it drops a yard or two short. It definitely didn't help the game."

Macca gave his view on the Clyde penalty:-
"To be honest I was quite far away from it. Callum Woods should have cleared the ball and he has tried to play a cute ball inside. We had spoken about playing percentage balls when you are in those areas and he didn't do it that time. Obviously Scott (Wilson) has stuck a leg out and the boy has gone over. The ref has seen it as a penalty and I do not have any complaints."
