One hundred and twenty one league matches between St Johnstone and the Pars have resulted in 53 wins for the Fifers and 44 defeats. It would certainly be nice to extend that margin of wins to ten when Owen Coyle brings his Saints to East End Park on Sunday.

Both these sides were hotly fancied to be contenders for promotion this season but after four SFL matches there combined points total wouldn`t better that of Morton, Partick Thistle, Dundee or Hamilton. In fact they trail leader Hamilton by 8 and 9 points.

A win could be termed a necessity for both teams so its likely to be a fiercely contested derby match. The Pars win over Stirling Albion has hopeful got Stephen Kenny`s team on track but St Johnstone will be very tough competition and will be desperate to recover from the surprise defeat at Broadwood in their last SFL match.
