Eighteen people attended a United Pars meeting at East End Park on Tuesday evening. Karen Brown representing the Club gave an update on the outstanding issues from the last meeting.
The new home kit was launched on 20 July and the new away kit is expected to be available by the end of this week.
Sammy's Squares has been set up and the first draw for a guaranteed sum of £777 will take place at half time during the first home game of the season this Saturday against Morton. It was stressed that there were many squares to sell and pointed out that for those purchasing early, the chances of winning are so much greater.Volunteers are still required to sell squares on matchdays and if anyone can help this Saturday they should contact Trish at the Club.
Up to 1000 tickets will be made available to Dunfermline Athletic Supporters Club for distribution to children at the following games: Saturday 29 September v Partick Thistle, Saturday 20 October v Hamilton Accies, Saturday 8 December v Clyde, and Saturday 26 January v Morton.
Fans present expressed great disappointment at the price of the official travel package to Gothenburg for the UEFA Cup second leg.They said that the price of £469 came as "a bit of a shock". Karen said that TMG Sports had tried as hard as they could to come up with the best deal possible for a direct flight from Edinburgh to Gothenburg on a charter BMI 195 seater plane.The price includes all transfers and accommodation on the evening prior to the match.
The team and official party will take up 75 of the available seats and after early sales there remains 93 seats for sale to fans.
Karen said that Kentaro, a specialist company in handling television rights to Uefa games was looking into the possibility of televising the match from Sweden.
Marvyn Stewart asked the Club to provide a set of strips for a challenge match between Dunfermline Supporters and those of BK Hacken that would take place on the morning of Thursday 30 August. She also asked if the Club would consider seeking approval for Dunfermline mascots at the match in the Ullevi Stadium. A competition would be run for three mascots at the match on Thursday 16 August.Watch this website for details.
The lack of customers in Legends Bar was discussed and various ideas put to Karen to increase trade.Legends will be open to the public on Wednesday evening for the Testimonial Match against Manchester United.
Brian Duncan asked that season ticket holders test out their season tickets ahead of the game against Morton. He will have terminals available for testing the plastic cards on Wednesday night and during the day at the Ticket Office. There is a need for volunteers this Saturday to assist when untested cards do not work.
When asked if he was certain that the cards would work for those purchasing early bird season tickets that gave access to the UEFA Cup game, Brian said that problems with the database meant it was very important that cards were checked in advance.
Karen reported that she had received confirmation from Sir Alex Ferguson that he would be able to attend the Club's Hall of Fame event on Thursday 27 September. Venue to be confirmed.
The Disabled Supporters group drew Karen's attention to the need for a Steward on the gate that gives wheelchair users access to the Norrie McCathie Stand.
The Pars Supporters Trust will hold their fourth Casino night on Friday 14 September at 7.30pm, price £15 including champagne reception and buffet meal.
