Stephen Kenny Post Hamilton

"I am not happy about the goals to say the least but we will put that behind us. That is a defeat, you have to accept these things.

Stephen Kenny commented after the defeat at Hamilton:-

"We knew Hamilton had a good home record, we knew that we were here for a tough game. The turning point was the penalty; to concede a penalty like we did was a killer blow. After that we still had a go but that is the way it goes. With ten men for 43 minutes we gave ourselves too much to do.

"To concede a goal at the start of each half which is hard to believe to be honest. We got one back and created a few chances but we have to put that behind us."

Did the Manager think that Phil McGuire had been too harshly dealt with when Referee Dougie McDonald showed him red?

"It follows the letter of the law, it is very harsh certainly particularly when the forward receiving the ball on the other side of him looked offside. You can see why it was given for a slight tug but the player has gone down. These decisions are given sometimes you have to accept them.

"I am not happy about the goals to say the least but we will put that behind us. That is a defeat, you have to accept these things. There is no point making excuses we have lost the game. Hamilton are very strong physically, they played 4-5-1 using big Stuart Taylor at every possibility, at every throw in, every kick out trying to maximise Taylor's advantage in the air.

"They just tried to deny us space in midfield with 4-5-1. It worked to an extent but we still had possession for spells. I felt as the game went on they would open up a bit for us but unfortunately with ten men that made it difficult."
