"Hopefully we can take a bit of confidence from the result. This is one of the hardest places to come and get a victory.

"It is still very much in St Mirren's hands, all we can do is apply a bit of pressure. We didn't manage to do that last week but with them not having a game this week then this was maybe the last chance saloon to apply that pressure before the split."

Had Stephen Kenny's half time talk rallied the revival?

"Basically the gaffer said we weren't good enough. We were being outfought, although to be fair the conditions were really tricky to judge. Even when Greg Ross was taking throw ins for example, you would think it was coming to you but it would die in the wind as were the high balls. That is no excuse and the gaffer gave us a kick up the backside. He told us in no uncertain terms that he wanted better."

Jim was asked his opinion of a Tokely challenge on him immediately before Inverness Caley Thistle took the lead. Did he feel that he had been fouled.

"Yes, I thought it was a foul, he just kind of dragged me on my shoulder and I said that to the referee."

Dunfermline's lack of goals have been subject to many column inches throughout this season but Jim McIntyre scored on his starting debut for Dunfermline and hopes to repeat this in the important matches still to be played.

"To be honest I have watched a lot from the sidelines and I do not think we have created loads of chances. What the gaffer has done is that he has brought in the two wide boys and that has definitely given us the impetus to drive at teams and get forward. Before we were getting in too many balls too deep which favours a defender more than a striker.

"With myself back and Tam McManus he is just trying to give us options. We have to praise Stevie (Crawford) and Jim (Hamilton) who have worked their backsides off for very little scraps. That is the way I have been seeing the games. Jim has been needing a knee operation since December so all you have to say is first class to them. Wee Burchy has had a terrible time with injuries as well - the gaffer has had his hands tied a wee bit. He has not had anybody to mix it up so hopefully in the next few weeks he will maybe have four to choose from and we can all push each other on to try and get the goals to get ourselves out of it."

Can this Dunfermline's first away win of the season be the springboard to success?

"The way I see it is stats don't lie and over the season we have been poor. Hopefully we can take a bit of confidence from the result. This is one of the hardest places to come and get a victory as you have seen with the Old Firm coming up here and battling right to the end to get a win."
