"We knew this weekend was a big weekend and we did not get the result we wanted.
"In the first half we probably created the better chances. Second half we passed it reasonably well and probably looked a bit more dangerous than they did for the last fifteen minutes. But it is always disappointing to lose a goal in the last minute. When its against your rivals it is even harder to take."
Was Alan Gow offside?
"I was complaining of offside. I thought i was in line with Darren Young when the ball was played through to Gow but I think he was two yards ahead of me. My hand went up and I don't think anybody was behind me. It is not for me to call the decisions in is for the linesman."
Shieldsie got no joy from the linesman when he challenged the decision after the final whistle. He was critical of slack play in the build up to the killer 90th minute goal:-
"It is up to us to eradicate that especially approaching stoppage time. That is what is probably the most disappointing thing about it because I thought we defended reasonably well for most of the game. It was the last two minutes that went against us.
"After the highs of last week beating Rangers and the way we did it going three up, coming here to play a Derby game against Falkirk you think you have a right good chance. Stevie had a good chance on the stroke of half time, if he had taken that I think it could have been a different game for us in the second half as well.
"We have to take these chances and stop making mistakes as well, albeit we made a mistake when I thought it was offside."
Dunfermline battled the elements as well as the Bairns:-
"A few of the boys said that they had never played in conditions like that ever. It was like that in training yesterday so we knew what it was going to be like. It was the same for both teams but all credit to Falkirk for getting the result."
Greg knew that the loss through a calf injury of Scott Wilson three minutes from the interval was a severe blow. Scott is not one to give in and usually plays on even when suffering but his withdrawal led to a re-organisation in the defence:-
"Darren Young came back. Darren has been playing midfield, left back, wherever. He has done well and we looked more comfortable in the second half. I'm sure Scott will be back in a couple of weeks.
"Every game is a must win game, there is no room for complacency. When you are mid table or near the top you can draw a game - but not losing goals in the last minute. When you are down there it is very difficult. We know what's ahead of us. There are fourteen games left now and we will be watching the St Mirren v Motherwell game very closely when it is played in midweek."
