So often sent to be the spokesperson for the playing staff, Scott Wilson was delighted to be able to comment after a victory instead of trying to explain away a defeat:-
"To be up 3-0 we thought that Rangers were going to come at us all guns blazing but we managed to hold on for a great result but we could have done with three points in the league! I would swap that for three points in the league any day.
"It was great thing for us to get a third goal. Phil (McGuire) said to me just before he scored 'I fancy myself here' but we got all our luck in one game here. We haven't had any luck for weeks and it all seemed to come in that first 45. I am delighted with the win.
"Football is so funny, not being able to score the first goal all season and then to score the first three against a team like that, the boys are delighted with it but the league is the main priority.
We were just missing that first goal in games but the Manager had come in, changed the team around a wee bit, it takes a bit of getting used to but we are quite confident we have got a good enough to stay up.
"Doing it on a Saturday against teams round about us is all that matters."
