Jason Thomson

Jason Thomson made his East End Park debut in Tuesday night's pre season friendly against Huddersfield Town and now he is looking forward to his first competitive match on Monday night. He talked about how he ended up playing in black and white:-

"I was aware that Dunfermline were needing a right back and I was looking to go out on loan, so I spoke to my agent who spoke to the manager. The deal was all then done very quickly after that. Although this was the first offer to come up, it was a great opportunity to stay in the SPL rather than drop down. I thought I might have to drop down a division, which wasn't a problem but getting a move to Dunfermline has been great."

The Hearts player who will be 24 on Tuesday told the website that he had been at Hearts through the youth set up, signing a couple of professional contracts but never got as many games as he would have liked.

"I opted to go out on loan so hopefully I will get a chance here and hopefully I will get a chance here to get as many games as possible and help Dunfermline do well."

Jason Thomson

Jason Thomson has been loaned from Hearts to Dunfermline for six months from 8th July 2011 and now who hopes to improve his game.

"It goes for any player who is not getting games. When you start playing you improve, get more confident and more match fitness."

Jason prefers to play right back but has been used in any position across the back four:-

"I have played a few times for Hearts at left back and at centre half when needed. I hope to bring something to the team defensively and the modern day full back needs to be able to get forward as well."

He proved his worth against Huddersfield when he did exactly that. The goal that Steven McDougall scored was from a Jason Thomson delivery. He feels that he has slotted in comfortably and is happy with his new club:-

"They are a great bunch of lads here, there's a good team spirit and we will need that for the coming season. I came in and trained one day before we flew to Austria. It was good to get away and you get to know the boys when you are away with them for the whole week. That was probably a blessing in disguise.

"We can't wait to get started in the SPL. We have two home games and couldn't ask for anything more. I am looking forward to it."
