Manager on Friday
Friday, 15th Jul 201115/07/11: JM - "The most important thing was to play against top opposition and train on quality surfaces so we got that.
Dunfermline head home from Austria today on a flight from Munich airport this afternoon. Manager Jim McIntyre told the website on Friday lunchtime that the trip had been an unqualified success:-
"Last night's match against Rapid Bucharest went really well in terms of our preparations. Obviously we were up against a very good side but we more than matched them in the first half.
"We were unfortunate to go in 2-0 down at half time; that was not a fair reflection since our boys should have scored in the first half. It showed our fitness levels were good and against a team who are a level above us we were made to work extremely hard. That allied with the training sessions, was what we wanted out of the trip.
"The most important thing was to play against top opposition and train on quality surfaces, so we got that. It also allowed the new signings to integrate into the squad and that was just as important."
Dunfermline next face Huddersfield Town on Tuesday night, kick off 7.30pm at East End Park.
